The World Press Freedom Index has been established by the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) organization since 2002. The methodology is based on a questionnaire of 87 questions, covering different topics: pluralism, media independence, environment and self-censorship, the legal framework, transparency and quality of infrastructures supporting the production of information.
