“Good Gesture Association” at the bedside of two mutilated boys

Christine Ntahe, Representative of the association visited the family of two mutilated boys in Kiremba Hill, Itaba Commune, Gitega Province on Wednesday 13 December. She came with a pack of food.

She visited Richard, 12 and Jean Claude 10, two boys recently amputated of left wrists by their neighbours (today jailed) on 21 November. She said she wanted to help them forget their ordeal at least for one week.

“I thought I saw everything but these little amputees upset. These are two ruined lives that must be supported by their families that are also vulnerable”. For Mrs. Ntahe commonly known as Mom Sunday, the idea is to do something for these children since she heard the news. For lack of means, she shared this concern with Izere Texas Club which immediately gave a financial support to collect this aid. She refuses being filmed arguing that it is not a trophy.

“I call on any good Samaritan to support these two families to raise these little children so that tomorrow we will not see them begging in the street “. For Nzeyimana, Jean-Claude’s Mother, it’s a great help for both families.

Curiosity or jealousy?

Neighbours clumped together around the car while the younger were murmuring: “ubukene bagiye kubuhamba!” meaning literally in English, “They will bury poverty!”

Every minute that passed, two, three, four … people joined the group formed not far from the house of one of the victims. “How much money did they get?”, asked a woman to her neighbour who came first.

Léonie Hakizimana, Richard’s mother, indicated that she had become the subject of discussions of her neighbours. “They think we had millions of francs. Some do not even hesitate to tell me that the mutilation of my child will bring me a lot”, she lamented, adding that “If they knew how I feel when my son calls me every morning to wash him and then dress him up while he was not crippled, they would stop teasing me! ”
