A mother and her three children were killed in grenade explosion. The woman and two of her children died on the spot while the other kid died at the hospital.
It was around 7:00 p.m. on 19 December when two grenades were thrown by unknown people inside the household of Jean Claude Ruberintwari located in Kavomo area on Gerero hill in Kirundo Commune of Kirundo Province in the north of Burundi.
Jean Claude Miburo, Administrator of Kirundo commune says one person has been arrested for investigation. According to local sources, the woman would be accused of witchcraft. The administrator says he plans to organize a security meeting to aim at appealing to all local residents to avoid sorcery- based suspicions that lead to the killing of the suspected people.
