The African Football Confederation (CAF) imposes a sanction of US $ 10,000 on Burundi Football Federation (FFB) because Burundi National Television (RTNB) broadcast the match that took place on March 23, 2019 between Burundi and Gabon without the CAF’s written approval. Burundi violated the rule according to CAF Secretary General’s letter of March 31, 2019 sent to FFB Secretary General.

Révérien Ndikuriyo, FFB chairman, on his Facebook page, calls for the investigation of the broadcast of the match by RTNB. “RTNB officials will have to pay this fine as FFB warned everyone that only AZAM TV should film the match,” according to Ndikuriyo
The management of RTNB promises to express itself on the issue in a press conference that will be organized shortly.
The match Burundi Vs Gabon allowed Burundi national team to participate in the final phase of the African Cup of the Nations that will take part in June in Egypt.
