ActionAid committed to Women’s effective employability

Put aside the relevant issue concerning valuing women’s work, the exchange workshop organized on Friday, March 15 by Actionaid, put a spotlight on women’s employability. “A real quiet force that it is worth making profitable,” said Léopold Bizimana, President of the Standing Committee on Human Rights at Burundi National Assembly.

Participants appreciated how rich the debates were

He alluded to all those courageous rural and urban women who have no land to cultivate and beg all day long on the streets while they constitute a productive force for the nation.

Mr. Bizimana says facilities must be given to associations that help women get out of resilience by funding their projects, no matter how small they may be. In this perspective, this MP encourages women to be even more present during budget discussions. “It is through this way that their voice would reach farther.

Praising how rich the discussions were, Théophile Niyibigira, Operations and Partnership Coordinator at CARE International in Burundi asked that there be encrypted and updated data on the rate of women’s employability in Burundi in the next sessions.

For him, this would allow decision makers to have a global representation of the issue in order to find appropriate answers related to it. This campaign on valuing women’s work continues until Friday, March 22nd.
