Abel Gashatsi: “My mission is to bring together all Badasigana”

On the occasion of the celebration of the 55th Anniversary of the victory of UPRONA party, the new president of the party Abel Gashatsi is pleased his party has now new governing bodies from bottom to top. His main mission is to gather all UPRONA members.

Gashatsi expresses his satisfaction: “Today, UPRONA party organs are set up. I’m happy with the way the party of the Badasigana is organized. ”

For him, UPRONA members were able to preserve the ideology of Prince Louis Rwagasore, the hero of Burundi independence as this party turns 55 years while several political parties disappear shortly after their creation in Burundi and Africa as well.

“The fact that UPRONA is still standing despite the problems it has gone through means that today’s Badasigana still keep the ideal of unity defended by Prince Louis Rwagasore ” , he said.

He hopes to further strengthen the party: “Today, we celebrate this UPRONA’s victory peacefully, without chicanery within our members.”

For Abel Gashatsi, ” the party of Badasigana is not divided.” “There is only one UPRONA party, officially recognized by Burundian law and which managed to organize the national conference successfully.”
However, he regrets that some Badasigana and friends of UPRONA left the party following disputes that occurred over the past years.

A homecoming of former UPRONA members

The new president of UPRONA ensures that the current leadership is doing everything to bring together all Badasigana in order to build a strong and united party.

“I’ve contacted a lot of former members of UPRONA party and they promised to join us because they have confidence in the new leadership”, said the president of the party.

“UPRONA has the will to approach former members, forgive them and introduce them to the party structures to finally fulfill its noble mission to reunite the party of Prince Louis Rwagasore,” promised Abel Gashatsi.

He ensures that the new UPRONA leadership plans to further strengthen and reinvigorate the party so that it comes stronger on the Burundian political scene in 2020.
