In Burundi, fishing sector mainly concerns three species: Lates stappersii called Mikeke, Stolothrissa tanganyikae known as Ndagala and Lates mariae referred to as Sangala. These species represent 85% of annual catches. In this dataset, the Ndagala’s catches represent an average of 67% of annual catches, 17% for Mukeke and 1% for Sangala. As for the other species, their part is estimated at 15%.
